Hurt...........Carl Board Goad, age 86 of Hurt died Thursday, March 12, 2015 at his residence.
Born April 27, 1928 in Campbell County he was a son of the late Anderson Goad and Florence Owens Goad. Mr. Goad was predeceased by his wife, Virginia Thacker Goad; a son, Carl B. Goad, Jr.; a daughter, Gloria Dale Goad; four sisters, Louise Coffer, Gaynelle Guthrie, Frances Roberts, and Emogene Brooks, one brother, Seaford Goad and a very special friend Geraldine Matthews. He worked at the Lane Company for 41 years; and enjoyed dancing, music, crossword puzzles, woodworking, hunting and fishing.
He is survived by a son, David Goad of Hurt; two daughters, Deborah Hendricks of Hurt and Donna Jones and her husband, Kevin of Hurt; 12 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted 4:30 p.m. Sunday, March 15, 2015 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Rev. Latta Terry, Rev. Wyatt Miles IV and Rev. Tim Lane. Burial will follow in Monte Vista Baptist Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to The Claire Parker Foundation, P.O. Box 523, Altavista, VA 24517.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 P.M. Saturday, March 14, 2015 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence.
