Gretna……….Calvin Hendricks, age 78 of Gretna passed away Thursday, May 21, 2026 at his residence.

Born March 17, 1948 in Pittsylvania County, he was a son of the late Gladys Marie Hendricks.  He was predeceased by four brothers, Curtis Hendricks, Frank Hendricks, Dewey Hendricks and Alvin Hendricks; and one sister, Louise Hodges.  Mr. Hendricks was a member of Spring Road Baptist Church.  He was an equipment operator; and loved hunting and drag racing.

He is survived by one son, Kevin Hendricks of Gretna; two daughters, Teresa Hendricks Davis and husband, Bobby of Gretna and Sandra Hendricks of Altavista; one brother, Jimmy Hendricks and wife, Patsy of Hurt; three grandchildren, Brian Davis, Jacob Davis and Mathew Davis; four great-grandchildren, Eli Davis, Jaiden Davis, Scarlett Davis and Caroline Davis; and his longtime companion, Penny Irby.
