Huddleston………Calvin Langston Edwards, age 82 of Huddleston died Saturday, March 25, 2017 at his residence.
Born February 17, 1935 in Pittsylvania County he was a son of the late Glennon Charlie Edwards and Catherine Milam Edwards. He was predeceased by a son, Michael Calvin Edwards and his latter wife, Debbie Diogo Edwards. Mr. Edwards was a member of the Altavista Moose Lodge and a former parts manager for General Electric for over 38 years. He enjoyed spending time at the lake, riding boats, dancing, NASCAR, tinkering with engines, muscle cars and trucks.
He is survived by two sons, David Langston Edwards and wife, Faye of Forest and Daniel Keith Edwards and wife, Lisa of Gretna; one daughter, Donna Edwards Pearson of Forest; one brother, Charles Edwards and wife, Carole of Greenville, NC; one sister, Jerrye Mayhew and husband, Dr. Jessie W. Mayhew, Jr. of Danville; five grandchildren, Melissa Mayberry and fiancé, Jeff Maynard, Cathy Cash and husband, Ray, Matthew Pearson and special friend, Amberlee Kreutzer, Colby Edwards and fiancée, Kasey Brown, and Chandler Edwards; four great-grandchildren; four nephews; and his former spouse, Patricia Clay Templeton of Forest.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Rev. Edward Pope. Burial will follow in St. Andrews United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1 to 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence of his son and daughter-in-law, Daniel and Lisa Edwards, 2620 Piney Grove Road, Gretna.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Andrews United Methodist Church Mowing Fund, in care of Stacy Wyatt, 848 Deer Track Farm Road, Gretna, VA 24557.
