Pelham, NC…….Calvin Edward Caswell, age 72 of Pelham, NC passed away Friday, June 12, 2026 at Eden Health and Rehab Center.

Born June 10, 1954 in Jamestown, NY, he was a son of the late Edward Caswell and Elsa Olofson Caswell.  He was predeceased by his wife, Cynthia Hardy Caswell.  Mr. Caswell was a U.S. Navy veteran and was a retired correctional officer with the North Carolina Department of Corrections.  Mr. Caswell also worked in maintenance at Caswell Pines Golf Club.

He is survived by one son, Chad Caswell; one daughter, Crystal Pruitt (Jerald Pulliam); two brothers, Craig Caswell (Ruth) and Chester Caswell (Donna); five grandchildren, Colby, Selena, Daniel, Jr., Amber and Jared; six great-grandchildren, Ariella, McKenlynn, Nevaeh, Oaklee, Bayleigh, and Kaitlynn; many nieces and nephews; and his cat, Smokey.

Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 17, 2026 at Danville Memorial Gardens by Pastor Griselda Jobe.  Military Honors by American Legion Dan River Post 1097.

The family will receive friends following the service at Piney Forest Seventh-Day Adventist Church.
