Gretna……..Richard Cale Jefferson, age 50 of Gretna died Sunday, May 23, 2021 at John Randolph Medical Center in Hopewell.

Born July 12, 1970 in Danville, he was a son of Nettie Newcomb Jefferson of Hurt and the late James "Jimmy" Harrison Jefferson.  Mr. Jefferson was a member of Gretna Pentecostal Holiness Church and he was a welder with Southern-Air.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting, four-wheeling, mud bogging, and drag racing.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Melissa Dawson Jefferson of Long Island; one son, Nathan Cale Jefferson of Long Island; and one brother, Scott Jefferson of Hurt.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home.
