Gretna……….Buddy Wayne Adkins, age 71 of Gretna died Friday, December 17, 2021 at Lynchburg General Hospital.

Born January 30, 1950 in Pittsylvania County, he was a son of the late David Crockett Adkins and Fannie Gibson Adkins. He was predeceased by a sister-in-law, Polly Adkins; and two brothers-in-law, Lawson Tuck and Lee Falls. Mr. Adkins worked in construction.  He loved Blue Grass music, dancing, cooking, eating, going camping; and sports, especially the Pittsburgh Steelers.

He is survived by his wife, Joy Pickeral Adkins of the residence; two sons, Benji Adkins of Ringgold and Brandon Adkins of Wirtz; five brothers, Bill Adkins and wife, Betty of Hurt, J.B. Adkins of Sutherlin, Emmett Adkins and wife, Dorothy of Danville, Riley Adkins and wife, Sandra of Danville and David Adkins and wife, Kathy of Ringgold; two sisters, Irene A. Tuck of Gretna and Carolyn A. Falls of Gretna; and three grandchildren, Maggie, Gavin and Isabel.

Memorial services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Rev. R.G. Rowland.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, December 27, 2021 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home.
