Gretna………Brian Keith Ashworth, age 56 of Gretna died Sunday, February 13, 2022 at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital.

Born June 22, 1965 in Pittsylvania County, he was a son of Peggy Cook Ashworth of Gretna and the late Rev. Gene Richard Ashworth.  Brian was active in church; he was a member of Sandy Level Baptist Church and also attended Zion United Methodist Church.  He was a Senior Electrical Engineer with Graham Packaging.  Brian loved spending time with his family and cooking for family.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Nancy Mayhew Ashworth of the residence; one daughter, Brionna Ashworth of Gretna; one son, Jonathan Ashworth of Gretna; one step-daughter, Christi Owen and husband, Kevin of Gretna; one step-son, Jerry Allen Shelton and wife, Candace of Gretna; one brother, Don Ashworth and wife, Annette of Gretna; the mother of his children, Donna Ashworth of Gretna; five step-grandchildren, Daniel, Emily, Allen, Taylor, and Jacobb; two step-great-grandchildren, Avery, and Owen; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and rent-a-kids; and his fur baby, "Maggie May."

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 17, 2022 at Sandy Level Baptist Church by Pastor Kendell Smith, Rev. R.G. Rowland, and Pastor Hosub Sung.  Burial will follow at Liberty Memorial Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at Sandy Level Baptist Church and other times will be at the residence.
