Long Island………Brenda Pickeral Rowland, age 77 of Long Island died Thursday, April 17, 2025 at Runk and Pratt at Liberty Ridge.

Born December 23, 1947 in Pittsylvania County, she was a daughter of the late Arthur Oscar Pickeral and Annie Belle Rowland Pickeral. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Thomas "Tommy" Alvin Rowland; and two cherished sisters, Elaine P. Gibson and Vivian P. Dawson. Mrs. Rowland was a member of Edge Baptist Church; and she enjoyed spending time with her family.

She is survived by one daughter, Lora R. Layne and husband, Gerald of Long Island; one son, Stuart A. Rowland and wife, Amanda of Ruffin, NC; one sister, Donna P. Clemmons and husband, Steve of Las Vegas, NV; five grandchildren, Justine Layne Merryman and husband, Lee, Carter Thomas Layne & wife, Jasmyne, Kaylee Rowland, Leslie Rowland and Scarlett Rowland; and one great-grandchild on the way.

Funeral services will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Saturday, April 19, 2025 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Dr. Jerry P. Jordan.  Burial will follow in Gretna Burial Park.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Saturday, April 19, 2025 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, April 18, 2025 at the residence of her daughter and son-in-law, Lora and Gerald Layne, 74 Peak Place, Long Island.
