Gretna………Edgar Lee "Bootsie" Shelton, Jr., age 60 of Gretna died Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at his residence.
Born June 7, 1957 in Lynchburg, he was a son of the late Edgar Lee Shelton, Sr. and Rebecca Farmer Shelton. Mr. Shelton was predeceased by a brother, James "Tommy" Shelton. He was a member of the Virginia National Guard for over 20 years and former employee of the Lane Company. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, watching NASCAR, spending time with his grandchildren and watching the grass grow.
He is survived by two sons, Edgar Lee Shelton III and wife, Anna of Danville and Brandon Scott Shelton and wife, Rebecca of Danville; two brothers, Hugh "Andy" Shelton and wife, Betty of Bedford and David Shelton of Gretna; one sister, Rhonda Witt and husband, Jeff of Hurt; and five grandchildren.
Graveside services with Military Honors by American Legion Altavista Post 36 and Gretna Post 232 will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Friday, January 12, 2018 at Gretna Burial Park by Rev. Walter Coles.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2 to 2:45 p.m. Friday, January 12, 2018 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home.
