Gretna………Bonnie Lou Neal, age 72 of Gretna, died Sunday, October 29, 2023 at her residence.

Born May 19, 1951 in Campbell County, she was a daughter of the late Herbert "Bob" Reese Neal, Sr., and Flora Davis Neal.  She was predeceased by a nephew, Kevin Maddox; and a brother-in-law, George K. Hughes, Jr.

Bonnie was a 1969 graduate of Gretna High School.  She graduated from Nursing School and worked for Centra Health for 42 years.  She took care of many people in our area, and was highly valued by those she cared for.

She is survived by three sisters, Karen "Kaye" Neal of Gretna, Nancy Hughes of Altavista, and Teresa Neal of Danville; one brother, Herbert Neal, Jr. and wife, Janice of Gretna.  One of her greatest joys in life were her nieces and nephews.  She is also survived by four nieces, three nephews, four great-nieces, and 12 great-nephews.

The family would like to thank Kaye Neal, and Cindy Easton for the great love, and care shown.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
