Gretna………Bonita "Bonnie" Taylor McDaniel, age 72 of Gretna died Friday, August 2, 2024 at her residence.

Born January 7, 1952 in Pittsylvania County, she was a daughter of the late Charles Franklin Taylor and Virgie Mae Bowen Taylor.  She was predeceased by one sister Judy Simpson; and two brothers, Garnell Taylor and Lynwood Taylor.  Bonita was a member of Zion Chapel.  She was a retired hairdresser and home maker.  She enjoyed going to church, sewing, baking, gardening, singing and spoiling her grandchildren.

She is survived by one daughter, Jody Adkins of Gretna; two sons, Charles "C.C." Adkins and wife, Sherri of Gretna and Joe Paul Roberts and wife, Tara of Gretna; one brother, Ricky Taylor and wife, Kathy of Gretna;  nine grandchildren, Dustin, Brittany, Johnathon, Andrew, Courtney, Breezy, Autumn, Ryleigh and Millie; and five great-grandchildren, John, Josey, Prezley, Coleman and Harper.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 8, 2024 at Zion Chapel by Dr. David Wheeler, Rev. Harold Thornton and Ramsey Taylor.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 8, 2024 at Zion Chapel.
