A New angel arrived in heaven Wednesday, June 12, 2013 as Bonnie Lou Pickeral Hart, 64 formerly of Motley, passed away in Hermitage, TN where she had resided for the past several years.
She was born July 2, 1948 in Pittsylvania County and was the only child of the late Lawrence "Comp" Pickeral and Wilmouth Rowland Pickeral. She was a member of the Church of Christ of Latter-day Saints, Gretna Branch. Bonnie was formerly employed by the Gretna School system and touched the hearts of many young people whose lives she helped shape. She was also formerly employed by the YMCA and Roses of Altavista. Bonnie enjoyed cross stitching, knitting, and genealogy. She never met a stranger and always had a witty, blunt, and humorous come back to any situation. Bonnie always had a smile and always did what she could for others. She found great joy in caring for her grandchildren.
She is survived by a daughter, Kim Hiland and her husband Johnny of Nashville, TN; two sons, Scott Hart and Matthew Hart of Hurt; four grandchildren, Stephen Hart, Hayden Hart, Katlyn Krantz, and Brittany Dix; special cousins, Dina Sue Bell and Patty Dix; and numerous close friends.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by President Raymond Elliott, followed by burial in the Carl O. Moran Memorial Garden.
The family will receive friends at the residence of Jimmy and Patty Dix, 4389 Blue Ridge Drive, Gretna.
