Chatham……….Bobby R. Pickral, Sr. age 74 of 100 Greenbay Road, Chatham went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 after a period of declining health.
He was born on July 19, 1942 in Gretna to the late Harry E. Pickral, Sr. and Margaret Mills Pickral. He was also predeceased by two brothers, H. Edgar Pickral, Jr. and Judson B. Pickral; and his parents-in-law, Harold and Sallie Worley.
He was a member and served as treasurer and deacon at Springfield Primitive Baptist Church in Gretna. He retired from Klopman Mills Inc. in 2006 after 43 years of service. He enjoyed farming, collecting pocket knives and doing anything outdoors. Bobby and Patsy took many relaxing trips to the mountains after retirement where he could view God's creations. It is with much sadness his family says goodbye, but the life he lived assures them there is no doubt that God has prepared a place for him in Heaven.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Patsy Worley Pickral of the residence; two sons, Bobby R. "Randy" Pickral, Jr. and wife, Carolyn of Chatham and Michael K. Pickral of Chatham; four brothers, Oscar Pickral and wife, Nellie of Gretna, Charlie Pickral of Gretna, Gerald Pickral and wife, Nancy of Chatham and Reuben Pickral and wife, Jackie of Chatham; three sisters, Betty Pickral Rowles and husband, Larry of Gretna, Becky Pickral Shelton of Gretna and Shirley Pickral Shelton and husband, Jack of Gretna; devoted sisters-in-law, Susan Worley and Sandy Worley Simpson and husband, Troy; nieces, Grace Simpson and Faith Simpson whom he called his "girls" of Chatham; brothers-in-law, Wayne R. Worley and wife, LaVerne of Chatham and David E. Worley and wife, Kathy of Gretna; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Saturday, January 21, 2017 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Elder Troy Simpson and Elder Marvin Brumfield. Burial will follow in Carl O. Moran Memorial Garden.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, January 20, 2017 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence.
