Altavista……Bobby Onyx Barbour, age 78 of Altavista died Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at his residence.

Born April 11, 1940 in Pittsylvania County, he was a son of the late Charles Wesley Barbour and Vera Lee Dalton Barbour.  He was predeceased by a son, William "Bill" Clark Barbour; an aunt and uncle who raised him, Reta Billings and Harry Pillow; and a brother, Bill Barbour.  Mr. Barbour was an Army Veteran and retired from BGF.  He enjoyed playing the lottery, watching western movies and collecting movies and baseball cards.

He is survived by his wife, Geraldine S. Barbour; a daughter, Tamara Barbour and her spouse, Barbara of Altavista; a son, Chuck Barbour of Altavista; a grandson, Corwin Barbour of Greensboro; four step-children, Frank Londree, Jr. and spouse, Ute, Becky Rash and spouse, Ron, Donna Smith and spouse, Tim, and Brandy Glass and spouse, Scott, all of Lynchburg; and numerous step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held at a later date.
