Gretna……Robert "Bob" Clarence Carvatt, age 87 of Gretna died Saturday, March 26, 2022 at his residence.

Born September 16, 1934 in Hoffman's Crossing, New Jersey, he was a son of the late Earl Lewis Carvatt and Addie Sliker House. He was predeceased by a grandson, Brian Robert Carvatt; one brother, June Carvatt; and one sister, Bernice Kerr. Mr. Carvatt was a member at Watson Memorial United Methodist Church and was a United States Marine Corp Veteran. He was a Federal Firefighter, enjoyed farming, watching baseball and figure skating.

He is survived by his wife, Emily Carvatt of the residence; four sons, Gary Carvatt & wife, Debbie of New Jersey, Kevin Carvatt and wife, Lucille of Georgia, Steven Carvatt of New Jersey and David Carvatt of New Jersey; three daughters, Carol McGuire of New Jersey, Amy Place and husband, John of Pennsylvania and Katy Miller and husband, Tony of Gretna; one sister, Lois Smutek and husband, John of New Jersey; 12 grandchildren, Theresa Walker, Bonnie Walker, Johnny Place, Autumn Place, Becky McLochlin, Juli Weideman, Brad Place, Desiree Place, Naomi Place, Sarah Miller, Tuesdee Miller and Axl Miller; and 16 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at Watson Memorial United Methodist Church by Rev. Pat Kelley and Pastor Kay Gentry. Burial with Military Honors by American Legion Altavista Post 36 and Gretna Post 232 will follow in Carl O. Moran Memorial Garden.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 29, 2022 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence.
