Gretna……….Bitha Mayhew Yeatts, age 82 of Gretna, died Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at her residence.

Born September 4, 1941 in Pittsylvania County, she was a daughter of the late Charlie Leonard Mayhew and Beatrice Doss Mayhew.  She was predeceased by two brothers, Sherman Mayhew, and Tom Mayhew.  Mrs. Yeatts was a member of Piney Fork Baptist Church, and she retired from Klopman Mills after 39 years of service.  She was a member of the Gretna Fire and Rescue Auxiliary; and she enjoyed watching westerns.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Jesse Yeatts of the residence; three daughters, Phyllis Mayhew and husband, Coleman of Long Island, Sharon Yeatts of Gretna, and April Giles and husband, Daniel of Chatham; seven grandchildren, Jessica, Wyatt, David Michael and wife, Cailyn, Taylor, Allison, Dixie, and Deanna; and four great-grandchildren, Keileigh, Kolby, Logan, and Layton.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 28, 2023 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Pastor Hank Meadows.  Burial will follow in the Yeatts Family Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, October 27, 2023 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence.
