Gretna…..Birchie Lee Rowland, 61 of 1724 Midway Road, Gretna died Saturday, November 30, 2013 at Danville Regional Medical Center.
Born April 18, 1952 in Danville he was a son of the late Lawrence Otey Rowland and Mary Rigney Rowland. He was predeceased by two brothers, Morris Randel Rowland and Elwood Lee Rowland. He was a member of Midway Baptist Church and was a cattleman. Mr. Rowland enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his grandson Connor.
He is survived by his wife, Sheila Witt Rowland of the residence; one daughter, Misty Brumfield and her husband, Brian of Gretna; one brother, Lowell Rowland and his wife, Melba of Danville; one sister, Iris Jarbeau of Gretna; and one grandson, Connor Brumfield.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at Midway Baptist Church by Rev. Lynn Marstin. Burial will follow in Gretna Burial Park.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:00 P.M. Monday, December 2, 2013 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence.
