Billy Woodson

Altavista……….Bunny "Billy" Fisher Woodson, age 79 of Altavista, died Sunday, November 5, 2017 at Autumn Care Nursing and Rehab.
Born September 15, 1938 in Pittsylvania County he was a son of the late John Bunyan "J.B." Woodson and Annie Bailess Woodson. He was predeceased by his wife, Charlotte Davidson Woodson; four sisters, Sue Archer, Alease Ferguson, Agnes Shelton and Katie Owens; and one brother, Roger W. Woodson. Mr. Woodson was a member at Penuel Baptist Church and was an Army veteran of Viet Nam. Billy retired from GE-Ericsson and was a ham radio enthusiast. He enjoyed volunteering, gardening and fishing.
He is survived by one son, John Woodson and wife, Ruby of Rustburg; granddaughters, Barbara Harris, Shirley Willis, Lyndsay Koleznar and 12 other grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Graveside services with Military Honors by American Legion Altavista Post 36 and Gretna Post 232 will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at Green Hill Cemetery by Rev. Carlton Gunter.
