Gretna…….William "Billy" Henry Hunt, Jr., age 80 of Gretna, died Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at Gretna Health and Rehab Center.

Born October 28, 1939 in Pittsylvania County, he was a son of the late William Henry Hunt, Sr. and Dorothy George Hunt. He was predeceased by his first wife, Frances Shelton Hunt. Mr. Hunt was a National Guard Veteran, a member of Summersett Baptist Church and retired from the Abbott Laboratories. Billy enjoyed painting and playing ball.

He is survived by his wife, Helen Hunt of the residence; one son, Wayne Hunt and wife, Della of Lynch Station; two daughters, Wanda Reed and husband, Kenneth of Danville and Tina Dagenhart and husband, Tracy of Evington; four step-sons, Gregory Vasser and wife, Nancy of Pittsville, Tim Vasser and wife, Betty of Gretna, Scottie Vasser and wife, Tonya of Gretna, Allen Vasser and wife, Sherri of Vinton; one step-daughter, Kristie Winoker and husband, Travis of Charlotte, NC; one brother, Oscar Lee Hunt and wife, Ann of Huntersville, NC; one sister, Jeanette Lovelace and husband, David of Gretna; seventeen grandchildren, Heather, Amanda, Keith, Natalie, Kevin, Kerri, Destiny, Daniel, Trevor, Lindsey, Brittany, Misty, Zane, Greyson, Kynley, Sophie and Reid; and ten great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 21, 2019 at Summersett Baptist Church by Rev. Jason Andrews. Burial with Military Honors by American Legion Altavista Post 36 and Gretna Post 232 will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, December 20, 2019 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence.
