Billy Ray Chumley

Hurt……….Billy Ray Chumley, age 63 of Hurt went to be with his Lord and Savior Monday, July 13, 2015.
Born July 16, 1951 in Lynchburg, he was a son of the late, Clifford Carroll Chumley and Laura Wooldridge Chumley. He was predeceased by his wife, Karen G. Chumley and a sister, Penny Chumley. Billy was a retired salesman and a member of New Prospect Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, working on the farm, baseball and football.
He is survived by four sons, Matthew Chumley of Evington ,Jon Chumley of Destin, FL, Josh Chumley of Danville, and Michael Chumley of Danville; three brothers, Carl Chumley of Altavista, Ralph Chumley and wife, Mary of Vinton and Ronnie Chumley of Hurt; eight sisters, Doris Atkinson of Hurt, Dalphine Bradner of Gladys, Lena Bennett and husband, Kermit of Hurt, Shirley Bailess of Hurt, Kathryn Dodson of Danville, Barbara Hall of Hurt, Susan Crews of Hurt and Chris Chumley Franklin and fiancé, Billy Brewer of Hurt; a granddaughter, Mady Rae Chumley and her mother, Raven and a grandson, Jacob; his best friend, Tony Crews; and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 16, 2015 at New Prospect Baptist Church by Rev. Brady Willis.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday, July 16, 2015 at the New Prospect Baptist Church Family Life Center and other times will be at the residence of his sister, Chris Chumley Franklin, 9101 Blue Ridge Drive, Hurt
