Gretna……….Betty Pickral Rowles, age 88 of Gretna, died Sunday, December 24, 2023 at Gretna Health and Rehab Center.

Born January 3, 1935 in Pittsylvania County, she was a daughter of the late Harry E. Pickral, Sr., and Margaret Mills Pickral.  She was predeceased by four brothers, Edgar Pickral, Judson Pickral, Charlie Pickral, and Bobby Pickral.  Mrs. Rowles was a member of Greenfield Baptist Church, and she was a home maker. She was good Christian woman who kept Jesus in her heart all the time. Betty was a loving wife and mother; she loved and cared for her family and was always willing to cook and care for all.

She is survived by her husband, Larry Grayson Rowles of the residence; one son, Danny Rowles and wife, Debbie of Gretna; two daughters, Judy Bolling and husband, Raymond of Gretna, and Kathy Pickeral and husband, Tommy of Gretna; three brothers, Oscar Pickral and wife, Nellie of Gretna, Gerald Pickral and wife, Nancy of Chatham, and Reuben Pickral of Chatham; two sisters, Rebecca Shelton of Gretna, and Shirley Shelton of Gretna; three grandchildren, Susan Oakes and husband, Andy, Daniel Rowles and wife, Maggie, and Shane Keatts; three great-grandchildren, Joshua Oakes, Adam Rowles, and Raylan Keatts; numerous step-grandchildren, and step-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, and nephews.

Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 29, 2023 at Greenfield Baptist Church Cemetery by Rev. R.G. Rowland.

The family will receive friends at the residence.
