Hurt……Betty Hoylman Dalton, age 88 of Hurt passed away Monday, August 24, 2026 at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital.

Born April 26, 1938 in Lynchburg, she was a daughter of the late William D.  Hoylman and Lora Martha Lane Hoylman.  She was predeceased by a daughter, Deborah Colbert.  Betty was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church and she retired from Abbott.  She loved shopping and her dog, "Lacy."

She is survived by two sons, Pete English and wife, Renee of Hurt and Barry English and wife, Kenda of Gretna; seven grandchildren, Logan English, Conner English, Trey Crews and wife, Cassidy, Eric Colbert and wife, Monica,  Jason Colbert and wife, Danielle, Courtney Crews and Elizabeth Kedy and husband, Sean; and five great-grandchildren, Lane, Alex, Mitchell, Ryan and Evan.

At Betty's request there will be no public service.

Visitors are welcome at the residence of her son, Barry English, 495 Gallows Road, Gretna, Virginia on Saturday, August 29, 2026 between the hours of 1:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Friends of Campbell County Animal Control.

The family would like to thank the staff a Centra PACE and Gretna Health and Rehab for their love and care.
