Gretna………Bettie Brooks Edmonds, age 89 of Lynchburg formerly of Gretna died Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at the Pearls of Life at Liberty Ridge in Lynchburg.

Born May 20, 1932 in Gretna, she was a daughter of the late William Howard Brooks and Mary Montgomery Brooks.  She was predeceased by her first husband, Roy Burton Crews; her second husband, Harold Thomas Edmonds; one son, Ronald Crews; and one brother, Bobby Lee Brooks.  Mrs. Edmonds was a member of Straightstone Baptist Church and she retired from BGF.  She was a former volunteer with the Renan Fire Department; and she enjoyed working in the yard, gardening, and attending church.

She is survived by one grandson, Justin Scott Crews of Orlando, FL; one granddaughter, Jennifer Brooke Crews of Forest; and one great-grandchild, Sydney-May Crews.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 29, 2022 at Straightstone Baptist Church by Pastor Jim Fox.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
