Hurt……Bertha Adams Bennett, age 94 of Hurt, died Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at her residence.

Born April 11, 1928 in Pittsylvania County, she was a daughter of the late Thomas Henry Adams and Elizabeth Rose Worley Adams.  She was predeceased by her husband, Ray Anderson Bennett; one son, Billy Bennett; one grandson, Tony Bennett; two sisters, Martha Hammock, and Drusey Myers; and nine brothers, Bernard Adams, Willard Adams, Burkley Adams, James Adams, Oscar Adams, Curtis Adams, Paul Adams, Harold Adams, and Clayton Adams.  Mrs. Bennett was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church and she was a home maker.  She enjoyed working in her flower garden.

She is survived by one son, Bobby Bennett of Hurt; two daughters, Debora Arthur and husband, Barry of Hurt, and Elaine Dalton and husband, Jeff of Hurt; five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 27, 2022 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Pastor Matthew Speck.  Burial will follow in Altavista Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, August 26, 2022 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence.
