Obituary

Richmond…….Bernice Ineta Clay Bobbitt, age 89 of Richmond died Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at Discovery Village at the West End in Richmond.
Born May 19, 1927 in Halifax County she was the daughter of the late Roy Thornton Clay and Thelma Eanes Clay. She was predeceased by her husband, David Coleman Bobbitt; one son, Mark Bobbitt; and two brothers, Hampton Clay and Winfred Clay. Mrs. Bobbitt was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Lynchburg. She was a former nurse in Manassas, Chesapeake, and Roanoke. She was an excellent cook and former member of the Riverwalk Garden Club in Chesapeake. She enjoyed cooking, shopping, traveling and visiting with family.
She is survived by one son, Michael Bobbitt and wife, Karen of Glen Allen; two grandchildren, Ian Bobbitt and wife, Lisa and Jennifer Krauss; and three great-grandchildren, Mitchell Bobbitt, Emma Krauss and Coleman Krauss.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 25, 2017 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Ronnie Simpson. Burial will follow in Gretna Burial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, February 24, 2017 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Virginia, The Hope Foundation, 2235 Staples Mill Road, Suite 100, Richmond, VA 23230.
