Gretna………Benjamin "Ben" William Farmer, age 72 of Gretna died Tuesday, August 6, 2024 at Gretna Health and Rehab Center.

Born October 3, 1951, he was a son of the late Hugh Hyron Farmer and Ruby Yeatts Farmer.  He was predeceased by one brother, Carroll Hugh Farmer.  Ben was a member of Piney Fork Baptist Church.  He retired from Craddock Terry after 35 years of service and worked as a real estate agent for 25 years.  He loved working on the farm and on old cars.

He is survived by one sister, Peggy Atkins of Leesburg, Georgia; a special friend, Kathy Dalton of Gretna; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 9, 2024 at Piney Fork Baptist Church by Rev. R.G. Rowland and Pastor Drake King. Burial will follow in the Farmer-Cocke Family Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 9, 2024 at Piney Fork Baptist Church and other times will be at the residence of his sister, Peggy Atkins, 5357 Old Mine Road, Gretna.
