Martinsville…….Barry Edwards English, age 62 of Martinsville died Sunday, November 3, 2019 at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville.

Born March 3, 1957 in Danville, he was a son of the late Thomas Edwards English and Helen McGhee English.  He was predeceased by a brother, Steve English; and a sister, Peggy English Samsoe.  Mr. English was a car salesman and a US Navy veteran; and he enjoyed playing music, playing the guitar, writing and drawing.

He is survived by three daughters, Brooke Patterson and husband, Scott of Hurt, Peggy English of Altavista, and Lauren English and friend, Jamie Walden of Chatham; a special friend, Alice Lee of Ringgold; a half-sister, Mary Davis of Gretna; and seven grandchildren.

Graveside services with Military Honors by American Legion Altavista Post 36 and Gretna Post 232 will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at Liberty Memorial Cemetery by Dr. Mike Hatfield.
