Hurt……….Barbara A. Hall, age 73 of Hurt died Friday, August 4, 2017 at Lynchburg General Hospital.
Born August 27, 1943 in Pittsylvania County she was a daughter of the late Clifford Carroll Chumley and Laura Wooldridge Chumley. Mrs. Hall was predeceased by her husband, Louis Haden Hall; a brother, Billy Ray Chumley; and a sister, Penny Chumley. Mrs. Hall was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church and was the first woman supervisor at the Lane Company. She enjoyed country music, dancing, fishing, visiting the beach, and Charles Town, WV.
She is survived by one son, Collin Hall of Hurt; one daughter, Kathy Galvin and husband, Peter of Lake Mary, FL; one step-son, Walter Richard Hall of Hurt; two step-daughters, Karen Monroe and husband, Phillip of Joshua Tree, CA and Gale Robins and husband, Harry of Creedmoor, NC; three brothers, Carl Chumley of Altavista, Ralph Chumley and wife, Mary of Vinton and Ronnie Chumley of Hurt; eight sisters, Doris Atkinson of Hurt, Dalphine Bradner of Roanoke, Lena Bennett and husband, Kermit of Hurt, Shirley Bailess of Hurt, Kathryn Dodson of Danville, Susan Crews of Hurt and Chris Chumley Franklin and partner, Billy Brewer of Hurt; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 6, 2017 at New Prospect Baptist Church by Rev. Brady Willis. Burial will follow in the Chumley Family Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 P.M. Saturday, August 5, 2017 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence.
