Gretna….Barbara Ann Eanes left her 79 year old, handicapped, worn out body and soared to be with Jesus, Sunday, January 4, 2015. Welcoming her into her eternal heavenly home were her parents, Coleman & Nannie Wyatt Eanes, formerly of Hurt. Left behind to mourn her loss are her sister, Shirley (Mimi) Eanes Hammond & brother-in-law, John (her Darlin' Bucky), her niece Connie Parrish Beekman & husband, Chip of Powhatan; great nephews, Doug Beekman of Annandale and Dustin, his wife Amber, great-great nephew and nieces Maddox, Taylor and Chesney Beekman of Midlothian; numerous cousins and three aunts, Ruth Eanes Johnson, Katie Eanes Bishop & Eudora Eanes Roach.
Barbara Ann loved people, never met a stranger, and took it for granted that you felt the same way about her. Her Christ-like love was pure and unconditional. She could see your beauty from the moment she met you and never ceased to tell you how pretty you were. Her unique sayings will be repeated no doubt far and wide for years to come.
A celebration of Barbara Ann's life will be Wednesday, January 7th at 11 a.m. at Colbert Moran Funeral Home in Gretna with visitation at the funeral home on Tuesday evening 6 – 7:30 pm. The family welcomes you to their home at 211 Washington Street at any other time. Barbara Ann loved helium balloons. We are suggesting that you bring a balloon with you to the grave where we will release them to soar with her to the heavens.
The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Gentle Shepherd Hospice and Team Nurse – especially her loving and devoted care-giver for the past 2+ years, Jerri Thompson. We thank God first and foremost for blessing us with the precious gift of Barbara Ann and thank her parents for teaching us how best to love her and care for her. We appreciate all the prayers, loving thoughts, and support we have received from those whose lives have been touched by this special child.
