Barbara Dalton

Roanoke…..On October 1, 2011, Barbara Elaine Dalton, age 72 was reunited with her heavenly family: father, Martin M. Dalton, mother, Estelle Rowland Dalton, brother, Carroll Martin Dalton, sisters, Jeanette Dalton and Melba Pearson and husband, Giles, nephews, Andrew D. Taylor and Steve R. Pearson and a sister-in-law, Marion Willis Dalton. Barbara was a graduate of Phillips Business College in Lynchburg where she resided for many years until working and living in Roanoke the last years of her career. Yet she always returned to her parent's home in Gretna on weekends where she took care of her family. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Gretna and was a former employee of Barrow's Inc. She was a tennis enthusiast, enjoyed working crossword puzzles and Sudoku.
Barbara spent her life devoted to her family and is survived by two brothers, Oliver Dalton and Kenneth G. Dalton; four sisters, Anne Bryant ( Carrol), Earline Mann (Bill), Patsy Talbert, and Karen Bronaugh (John); Barbara enjoyed her nieces and nephews, Debbie Stafford, Mark Dalton, Martin Bryant, Claire Beaber, Suzie Rodgers, Angie McDuffie, Robert Taylor, Peter Taylor and Benjamin Taylor; and many great-nieces and nephews .
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at the Colbert-Moran Chapel by Rev. Laney Mofield. Burial will follow in Gretna Burial Park.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, one hour prior to the service 1 to 2 p.m. at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home.
