Gretna………Ashlee Rose Kopczenski, age 17 of Gretna died Sunday, March 6, 2022 at her residence.

Born January 25, 2005 in Lynchburg, she was a daughter of William Joseph Kopczenski and Heidi Gurlin Kopczenski of Gretna.  She was predeceased by her paternal grandfather, Philip John Kopczenski.

Ashlee had so many roles in each of our lives.  She was a daughter, a sister, a cousin, an aunt, and always a friend.  A beautiful soul inside and out who never failed to express her beauty with her own unique styles.  Strong-willed and determined, Ashlee never missed an opportunity to stand up for what she believed in.  Her wittiness and sense of humor could make anyone laugh and brought out a smile on her that lit up the room.  Ashlee had a love for music, especially Korean pop.  She aspired a dream of one day becoming a k-pop singer and spent many nights in her room practicing.  Determined to work hard, she was also taking steps towards joining the nursing field alongside her mother, sister, and aunt.  Ashlee had so many hobbies, some of her favorites being video games and anime.  Born with a creative mind, she had a special eye for art, specifically drawing.  Ashlee loved being a sister and adored becoming an aunt.  She left us too soon but with many memories we will cherish forever.  She was loved beyond measure and will be greatly missed.  "If love could have saved you, you would have lived forever."

In addition to her parents, she is survived by four brothers, Corey Kopczenski and fiancée, Ryan Ribeiro of Rhode Island, Taylor Kopczenski of Gretna, Michael Kopczenski of Gretna, and Joseph Kopczenski of Gretna; two sisters, Sarah Meadows and wife, Alexis Meadows of Danville, and Abigail Kopczenski of Gretna; her maternal grandparents, Myra Jean Crocker of Gretna, and Thomas Herbert Gurlin of New Jersey; her paternal grandmother, Geraldine Kopczenski; two nieces, Kayley Snow and Ameliah Meadows; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A private funeral service will be conducted at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Rev. Lynn Marstin.  Burial will follow in Big Island Cemetery.

The family will receive friends following the service at the residence of her sister and sister-in-law, Sarah Meadows and Alexis Meadows.
