Indiana…...Artis Ray Barbour, age 86 of Rising Sun, Indiana died Saturday, February 6, 2016 at Dearborn County Hospital in Lawrenceburg, Indiana.
Born August 27, 1929 in the Sandy Level Community of Pittsylvania County, he was a son of the late Curgie Daniel Barbour and Julia Mitchell Barbour. He was predeceased by his wife, Mary Wilkes Barbour; an infant son, Allen Ray Barbour; and three brothers, Lewis Steven Barbour, Garnett Barbour and Dudley Barbour. Mr. Barbour was a charter member of Sandy Level Baptist Church and was a retired civil engineer with American Electric Power Co. He was a graduate of Climax High School and enjoyed fishing, gardening, woodworking and bluegrass music.
He is survived by one son, Randy Barbour of Rising Sun, IN; two daughters, Deborah Nanni and her husband, Steven of Aurora, IN and Patty Ralph and her husband, Marty of Owensboro, KY; one brother, Everett Barbour and his wife, Carrie Lou of South Hill; two sisters, Clella Proctor of Gretna and Evelyn Andrews of Gretna; a sister-in-law, Atheline Barbour; two grandchildren, Danielle Baker and her husband, Richie and Christa Clark and her husband, Jake; four great-grandchildren, Alyssa Baker, Kaitlyn Baker, Devyn Clark and Felicity Rae Clark; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 11, 2016 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Rev. R.G. Rowland. Burial will follow in Gretna Burial Park.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home.
