Greensboro, North Carolina……Arlene Perkins Reynolds, age 87 of Greensboro, North Carolina, formerly of Cody passed away Friday, May 24, 2024 at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital.

Born May 5, 1937 in Pittsylvania County, she was a daughter of the late Floyd Layne and Carrie Barbour Layne. She was predeceased by her first husband, Charlie Perkins and then the late, Wilford Clayborn Reynolds; and two brothers, Owen Layne and Thomas Layne. Mrs. Reynolds was a member of Buffalo Baptist Church and was a home maker. She was a strong Christian woman, who was deeply rooted in her faith. She was a loving mother, who enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Arlene was a very happy person, she loved watching birds and looking at flowers.

She is survived by her daughter, Jo Ann McConnell and husband, Sam of Greensboro; three grandchildren, Allison Knight and husband, Steve, Adam McConnell and wife, Krissy and Jonathan McConnell; and six great-grandchildren, Noah McConnell, Addison Knight, Luke Knight, Oliver McConnell, Skylar McConnell and Emersyn McConnell.

Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at Highland Burial Park by Rev. Alfred Rimmer.

The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service from 1:30 to 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at Highland Burial Park.
