Gretna………Annie Bell Hedrick Vasser, age 94 of Gretna passed away Wednesday, July 23, 2025 at her residence.

Born January 20, 1931 in Bedford County, she was a daughter of the late Earnest Alva Hedrick and Eliza Annie Short Hedrick.  She was predeceased by her husband, Felix Thornton Vasser; a daughter, Betty Vasser; two grandchildren, Joey Bennett and Justin Hedrick; a great-grandchild, Corey Layne; a son-in-law, Mike Shriver; five brothers, Giles Hedrick, Shirley Hedrick, Henry Hedrick, John Hedrick and an infant brother, James Hedrick; and five sisters, Mary Newman, Vernell Barbour, Hazel Brown, Helen Walker and an infant sister, Virginia Hedrick.  Mrs. Vasser was of the Baptist Faith and a former school bus driver with Pittsylvania County Schools.  She enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, working on the farm and riding her four-wheeler or tractor to check on the cows on the farm.

She is survived by one son, Tony Vasser and wife, Angie; five daughters, Margaret Vasser, Peggy V. Blair and husband, Bobby, Frances V. Knox and husband, Jim, Katherine V. Shriver and Darnell V. Robertson and husband, Jeff; 12 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 17 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 27, 2025 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Rev. Jason Andrews. Burial will follow in Weatherford Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Saturday, July 26, 2025 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence.
