Obituary

Gretna…..Annie Farmer Chaney, age 101 of Gretna died Friday, October 31, 2014 at Danville Regional Medical Center.
Born October 20, 1913 in Halifax County, she was a daughter of the late William Marlin Farmer and Connie Orrell Farmer. She was predeceased by her husband, James Linwood Chaney, Sr.; a daughter, Patsy C. Tuggle; and a granddaughter, Tiffany S. Chaney. Mrs. Chaney was a member of the First Baptist Church of Gretna and was a home maker. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and spending time with her family.
She is survived by three sons, Carroll M. (Buck) Chaney of Gretna, James L. Chaney, Jr. and wife, Connie of Gretna, and Gary L. Tuggle and wife, Penny of Gretna; three daughters, Cecile C. Farmer of Hurt, Olivia C. Smith and husband, Louis of Yorktown and Connie C. Lambert of Glen Allen; 16 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at the First Baptist Church of Gretna by Rev. Jonathan Hilliard, Rev. Kristen White, Rev. Roy Ford and Rev. Lynn Marstin. Burial will follow in Gretna Burial Park.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence of her son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Connie Chaney, 106 North Franklin Blvd., Gretna.
