Gretna……….Annie Bosiger Burnette, age 98 of Gretna died Friday, July 10, 2020 at Gretna Health and Rehab.

Born March 26, 1922 in Pittsylvania County, she was a daughter of the late Charlie Bosiger and Kate Lovelace Bosiger. She was predeceased by her husband, Ben Taw Burnette; three sons, Ronald Ray Burnette, Benny Burnette and Tony Burnette; three sisters, Rosa Conner, Clara Layne and Mae Rowles; three brothers, Eddie Bosiger, Meredith Bosiger and John Bosiger; and two great-grandsons, Jimmy Yeatts and John Stuart Burnette. Mrs. Burnette was a member of Zion United Methodist Church and was a home maker. Annie enjoyed gardening, cooking, quilting and loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by two sons, Bobby Dean Burnette and wife, Jane of Danville and Donald Gray Burnette of Gretna; one daughter, Janet B. Carico and husband, Lee of Wise; one sister, Edna Midkiff of Wyndhurst; two daughters-in-law, Phyllis Burnette of Hurt and Karen Burnette of Fairfax; and 15 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 24 great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 13, 2020 at Gretna Burial Park by Pastor David Edinger and Rev. Harold Thornton.

The family will receive friends at the residence of her daughter-in-law, Phyllis Burnette.
