With broken hearts the family of Anne Haskins Barbour 85 of Gretna announces her passing on May 10, 2025 at home after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's.

She was a beacon of love and compassion, always putting others before herself. Her gentle spirit and unwavering kindness left an indelible mark on all who knew her. Even in the face of adversity, she showed us the true meaning of grace and resilience.

Anne was born on August 5, 1939 in Chatham, Virginia to Ernest and Snowie Haskins. She attended Climax Junior High and Gretna High School. She had the honor of being crowned Miss Climax. She was married to her beloved husband of 58 years Calvin William Barbour and they made their home in Gretna, Virginia.  Anne was employed by the Pittsylvania County School System for over forty years providing safe transportation for generations of students. She was a member of Sycamore Baptist Church. She loved her family, friends, flowers and Luke Bryan. She loved to garden. Her garden was a masterpiece; she could coax life out of the most stubborn soil turning her yard into a vibrant fragrant paradise. She loved Luke Bryan and saw him twice in concert. She was proud that he came down singing a song to her while hugging her and giving her sweet kisses. Mrs. Barbour loved to shop; and loved animals. She had a special place for turtles and her fur grandchildren.

Anne is survived by her cherished daughter and best friend, Kimberley Barbour Berry of Hurt and a son, Duane Calvin Barbour (Debra) of Gretna. Devoted sister, Barbara Haskins Franklin (Ned) of Gretna and a brother, Glenn Haskins (Kathy) of Brights. Granddaughter and grandson, Chasity N. Barbour and T. Wesley Barbour of Vinton. Great-granddaughters and great-grandson, Skylour Shultz, Kaidence Stores and Jaden Barbour. Special nieces, Lisa Franklin Curtis and Terri Franklin Mcpaters. Her beloved fur grandchildren, Stuart, Koko, Isabella, Willow, Stuppy, Babby Kitty and Little bit.

Waiting for Anne at the gates to Heaven will be her husband Calvin and beloved son Timothy Wesley Barbour. Her brothers, Wesley Haskins and Maynard "Pete" Haskins. Her son-in-law, Dixon Wayne Berry and daughters-in-law, Roblyn Barbour and Betty Barbour. Her fur grandchildren, Nancy Sue, Shade, Spencer, Love and Blackie.

We deeply appreciate the compassionate caregivers, Jetta Morgan, Debra Simpson Barbour and Dale Clay who provided her comfort that allowed her to remain at home. Thanks to Centra Hospice nurse, Taylor Austin and team for their exceptional care and support that was invaluable during this time. Although she is no longer with us, her love and memories will forever remain in our hearts.  You will be deeply missed and forever cherished.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Thursday, May 15, 2025 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Rev. Jason Andrews and Curtis English, Minister.  Burial will follow in New Bethel Church of the Brethren Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 14, 2025 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home.
