Gretna…..Patricia Ann "BigMama" Roach, age 81 of Gretna died Thursday, July 18, 2019 at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital.

Born March 9, 1938 in Columbia, SC, she was a daughter of the late A.K. Milner and Edna Sims Parnell. Mrs. Roach was predeceased by a son, John Roach; son-in-law, John Dolan; and her step-father, Elrie Parnell. She was a member of Midway Baptist Church and was an employee of Pittsylvania County Schools. She loved listening to the Gaither's and enjoyed flowers; she ran Ann's Gifts and Flowers for several years.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Fitz Roach of the residence; one daughter, Debbie Dolan of Gretna; two sons, Lee Roach and wife, Cindy of Danville and Scott Roach and wife, Debra of Danville; one sister, Harriet M. Pinion and husband, Fred Pinion, Sr. of Concord, NC; ten grandchildren, Josh Roach and Connie, Beth Roach and Jeff Shelton, Angie Tyree and John, Adam Giles and Trisha Barney, Rev. Joey Giles, Jr. and Tiffany, Rianna Roach, Kaelyn Roach, Josh Soffriti and Emily, P.J. Soffriti, and Anthony Dolan; nine great-grandchildren, Josh Roach, Jonah Roach, Alex McCullock and Rebekah Hoskins, Jessa Shelton, Austin Jerose, Amelia Jerose, Avery Tyree, Rebekah Giles and Hailey Soffriti; and a special caregiver, Janice Dickerson.

Funeral services will be conducted 7:00 p.m. Sunday, July 21, 2019 at Midway Baptist Church by Rev. Lynn Marstin and Rev. Joseph N. Giles, Jr. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 6 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, July 21, 2019 at Midway Baptist Church and other times will be at the residence.
