Gretna…..Angela Barnes Strickland, age 47 of Gretna died Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at Gretna Health and Rehab Center.
Born November 28, 1966 in Lynchburg she was a daughter of Cecil Douglas "CD" Barnes & his wife, Kay of Gretna and Linda Mayhew Wood & her husband, Wayne of Gretna. Mrs. Strickland was a member of Sycamore Baptist Church and was an employee at Cross Roads Restaurant. She enjoyed bingo, Karaoke & DJ-ing, and she loved her dogs.
In addition to her father and mother, she is survived by her husband, Glenn Nelson Strickland of the residence; one son, Dustin Glenn Strickland & his fiancée, Beth of Gretna; two daughters, Leanne Barnes Lantrip & her husband, Phil of Gretna and Ashley Dawn Strickland & her fiancée, Mandy Moore of Climax; her mother-in-law, Edna Strickland of Java; two brothers, Travis Wood of Chatham and Christopher McKinney of Chatham; one sister, Jennifer McKinney of Chatham; and five grandchildren, Logan, Erica, Bailey, Cassidy, and Vann Lantrip.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, October 25, 2014 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Rev. Jason Andrews. Burial will follow in the Carl O. Moran Memorial Garden.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 P.M. Friday, October 24, 2014 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence of her mother and step-father, Linda and Wayne Wood, 210 Washington Street, Gretna.
