Chatham……….William Anderson (Andy) Shelton, age 80 of Chatham died Wednesday, June 1, 2011 in Danville Regional Medical Center.
Born November 17, 1930 in Pittsylvania County, he was a son of the late William Reeves Shelton and Margaret Hamlett Shelton. He was a retired general manager for a Ford dealership in Williamsburg and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Shelton was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, enjoyed NASCAR and traveling.
He is survived by two sons, Ronald Shelton of Staunton and Dennis Shelton of Salem; two daughters, Donna Bowyer of Staunton and Carolyn Fisher of Staunton; two brothers, C.G. Shelton of Hurt and Oma Shelton and wife, Mary of Gretna; two sisters, Lucy Matherly and husband, Guy of Hurt and Agnes East and husband, John of Hurt; 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 4, 2011 at Midway Baptist Church by the Rev. Dr. Lynn Marstin. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
