Hurt……Alvin Hendricks, age 73 of Hurt died Friday, July 30, 2021 at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital.

Born March 17, 1948 in Pittsylvania County, he was a son of the late Gladys Marie Hendricks.  He was predeceased by three brothers, Curtis Hendricks, Frank Hendricks, and Dewey Hendricks; and one sister, Louise Hodges.  Mr. Hendricks retired from BGF Industries and was a tobacco farmer.  He was a member of Spring Road Baptist Church; and he enjoyed hunting, and running dogs.

He is survived by his wife, Gloria Jean Hendricks of the residence; two sons, Eugene Hendricks and wife, Kim of Hurt, and Scott Hendricks of Hurt; two daughters, Laura East and husband, Darryl of Evington, and Linda King and husband, Ronnie of Hurt; two brothers, Calvin Hendricks of Gretna, and Jimmy Hendricks and wife, Patsy of Hurt; six grandchildren, Anthony, Cassandra, Jessica, Hannah, Cody, and Zachary; and four great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be conducted 10:00 a.m. Sunday, August 1, 2021 at the Hendricks Family Cemetery by Ronnie Simpson.

The family will receive friends at the residence.
