Altavista………Alice Lovelace Brumfield, age 94 of Altavista passed away Tuesday, November 3, 2026 at her residence.

Born April 18, 1932 in Middlesex, New Jersey, she was a daughter of the late David Nathaniel Lovelace, Sr. and Doherta Pickeral Lovelace. She was predeceased by her husband, John Terry Brumfield; three brothers, James Richard “Dick” Lovelace, Sr., Randall Lovelace and David Lovelace, Jr.; and two sisters, Margie L. Doss and Frances L. Tunkel. Mrs. Brumfield was a member of Penuel Baptist Church and was a home maker. She enjoyed reading romance novels, playing card games and spending time with her grandson and great-granddaughter.

She is survived by one daughter, Lisa Cox and husband, Eddie of Altavista; one grandson, Jonathan Cox; and one great-granddaughter, Maddie Cox.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 5, 2026 at Penuel Baptist Church by Rev. John Moxley. Burial will follow in the Brumfield Family Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 5, 2026 at Penuel Baptist Church and other times will be at the residence of her daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Eddie Cox, 503 Riverbend Road, Altavista.
