Gretna……….Hoyt Alexander "Alex" Moore, Jr., age 60 of Gretna died Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital.

Born December 13, 1960 in Lynchburg, he was a son of Theresa Short DePew of Williamsburg and the late Hoyt Alexander Moore, Sr.  He was predeceased by a half-sister, Carol DePew.  Mr. Moore graduated from Altavista High School in 1979 was a land surveyor for over 35 years.  He was a US Marine Corp Veteran and served in Beirut and Grenada.  Mr. Moore was a NASCAR and Chase Elliott fan.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife Lesa Danelle Kennedy Moore of the residence; one sister, Sarah Moore of Williamsburg; one step-sister, Denise Lockhart of Lynchburg; two nieces, Kaela Sinclair of Richmond, and Suzanna Lockhart of Lynchburg; and one great-niece, Willow Sinclair.

Memorial services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 27, 2021 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Rev. Lynn Marstin.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Renan Volunteer Fire Department, 405 Straightstone Road, Gretna, VA 24557.
