Obituary

Gretna……….Alese Adkins Gibson, age 99 of Gretna died Saturday, April 6, 2019 at Gretna Health and Rehab Center.

Born June 15, 1919 in Pittsylvania County, she was a daughter of the late Ruffus Adkins and Tinnie Bates Adkins.  She was predeceased by her husband, Moses Dillard Gibson; a daughter, Linda Peak; and two sons, Roger Gibson and Dillard Gibson.  Mrs. Gibson was a member of Chatham Pentecostal Holiness Church; and was a home maker and farmer.  She enjoyed watching T.V., crocheting, knitting, gardening, working on the farm, flowers, and watching her family play sports.

She is survived by one son, Darrell Gibson and wife, Velma of Chatham; two daughters, Stella Parker and husband, Ray of Gretna, and Christine Walden of Gretna; 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Pastor Obdulio Berrios.  Burial will follow in the Adkins Family Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, April 8, 2019 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence of her daughter and son-in-law, Stella and Ray Parker.
