Hurt……Agnes Woodson Shelton, age 81 of Hurt died Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at Gretna Health and Rehab Center.
Born March 13, 1933 in Pittsylvania County she was a daughter of the late John Woodson and Annie Bailess Woodson. She was predeceased by her husband, Cecil (Bill) Shelton; one brother, Roger Woodson; and two sisters, Susie Scarborough and Alease Ferguson. Mrs. Shelton was a member of WMU, and a member and Sunday school teacher at Piney Grove Baptist Church. She enjoyed sewing and growing flowers for the church.
She is survived by one brother, Billy Woodson of Altavista; and one sister, Katie Owens of Miami, FL.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Friday, May 9, 2014 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Pastor Matthew Speck. Burial will follow in Altavista Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1 to 2:00 P.M., Friday, May 9, 2014 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home.
